Gastro Non Grata 9, May 24th at the Triple Rock, $3 cover

Our next,
we're going to really try to break even show!!!!
Sunday, May 24th 6-9pm Triple Rock Social Club in Minneapolis Gastro Non Grata 9 and it's only 3 bucks.

We're happy, happy happy to announce we'll be sampling
the beers of Rush River Brewing Company of River Falls, WI.

I'm pretty sure these guys are going to show
up since it's their brewery and all

Our Food Guest will be Heather Hartman
Chef of Spoonriver and member of the
Cafe Brenda family. She's going to be throwing
down with mushroom pate first sample course
and a Vietnamese Grilled Pork salad for the second.

Of course, these shall be paired with fine Rush River Beers.

Rogue Chocolatier

To end the night Colin Gasko of
Rogue Chocolatier will be bringing
some of his unique bean to bar chocolate
so the crowd can realize the true potential
of the chocolate universe.

Oh, yeah. as an added bonus our buddy
Tim from Northern Brewer is going to
be on hand with nothing but a big pot, a
burner and a carboy to brew up the first
batch of Gastro beer from boil to pitch.

We will then sample the beer at the next
Gastro Non Grata in August. I wonder what
style he will be brewing for us...

Wait a minute.
Isn't there supposed to be music too?

Glad you asked, well for you measly three bucks, we
have also assembled a hodgepodge of awesome noises,
finishing the evening off with none other than Power Duo

His Mischief

They have a new album out that you should either buy
now or pick up at the show. This is high energy stuff that needs
to be handled carefully.

As an added bonus Mr. Fly, resident Spoonriver singer/
songwriter will be playing a few ditties as well

Gastro Non Grata and Modern Cafe are roasting pigs, rocking and drink beer and wine May 17th in the Modern Cafe parking lot during art-a-whirl

Our logo is done, and we're celebrating with two shows in a row. The first of which will be happening in conjunction with our good friend Mr. Jim Grell of the Modern Cafe.
We're gonna roast some pigs, make some bratwurst with Mike Philips
from the Craftsman, drink some great beers and sip on some tasty wine
all day during the art-a-whirl celebration on May 17th in the Modern
Cafe parking lot. I'm sure we'll be offering some interesting sides too.

Two Brothers brewing is going to be on hand as well to sell and sample
some of the great beers they're making outside of the Chicagoland area.

As for rock and roll, it don't get much better than this.
the straight ahead raunchy rock and roll of Chooglin' will
be capping off the evening.

Our favorite happy fun time rock band Private Dancer will be on
hand to make you fall in love with rock and roll all over again.

Hunting club will be summoning the killer inside all of us
as we feast on the flesh of freshly roasted meat

Les Ourses will be there for those of you who enjoy orchestral
instruments electrified and ambiant-a-matic

And of course, no Modern Cafe Music experience would be
complete without the electro-pop bop of That's What You Get

We'll be updating you with more fun and shenanigans
as they are scrawledonto cocktail napkins over the next
few weeks. Stay Tuned.

Check your beeper, Gastro Non Grata next show May 24th

Thanks to everyone who came to our last venture with Jim Grell of Modern Cafe and his pot roast, Sheela from Miel y Leche Catering and her cupcakes, she will cater the shit out of your event so I'm told, Duvel USA representing belgian beer love and all the amazingly wonderful bands that came to make the house shake.

That said, the show must go on and it will be going on Sunday, May 24th at the Triple Rock Social Club, doors at 6, show at 7. There will be some changes, first the bad news. We will be charging a slight cover at the door which we will keep as minimal as possible but to offset that, Northern Brewer is going to be on hand to brew a batch of beer to be drunk at the following Gastro Non Grata. I think they may even be adding a starter brew kit to whatever give away we end up doing that will hopefully be legal and whatnot.

So far our commitments are thus, Dreamland Faces is going to bring their amazing talent to the stage to turn the crowd on its ear and I'm pretty sure Modern Radio's His Mischief will be our headlining act. Heather Joy Hartman of Spoonriver and Cafe Brenda has signed on to be our food guest, so we may actually have a vegetarian option instead of huge slabs of meat. There's a first time for everything I guess. Does this mean we're going green the old fashioned way?

Well, everyone stay tuned because we have some more time to make this show even better.
